Clapham Book Club

Join us Tuesday, March 10 at the home of Dan and Whitney Lecocq for a discussion led by Clapham teacher Parker Smith. We will be reading, At the Back of the North Wind by George MacDonald. George MacDonald is a well-known and respected author of the 19th century, credited by some as writing two of the best novels in the English language, Phantastes and Lilith. He is also known for inspiring and influencing C.S. Lewis and G.K Chesterton. At the Back of the North Wind is one of his children’s fantasies and provides an example of how timeless truths can be communicated through the simplicity of a children’s story.  Our discussion leader, Mr. Smith, is currently teaching Christianity and Fantasy Literature as an elective class in our Upper School, and we anticipate a great discussion. We will have some books for sale at Curriculum Night this week. In case you don’t get one there, this is a link to a recommended hardcover. Soft covers are available on Amazon as well.
