Kolby Atchison

Head of School

Mr. Atchison began serving as Clapham’s third Head of School in the spring of 2022. This is his tenth year at Clapham School and seventh year in school administration. Mr. Atchison attended Biola University for his undergraduate studies in philosophy and studied Great Books in the Torrey Honors College. He also holds a master’s degree in systematic theology from Wheaton College.

Over the years, Mr. Atchison has taught a range of subjects and served in a variety of administrative capacities. He writes, speaks, and podcasts for Educational Renaissance, an organization that promotes a rebirth of ancient wisdom for the modern era. In addition, he has presented workshops on educational philosophy and pedagogy for the Society of Classical Learning. Mr. Atchison lives in Carol Stream with his wife Bethany and their three children. His family attends College Church where Mr. Atchison serves on the Board of Deacons.

Reflecting on Clapham’s mission, Mr. Atchison writes, “It is a great joy to serve at an institution that holds together the truth of the gospel, a contagious love for learning, and a deep-seated conviction to serve. Like William Wilberforce and his Clapham peers, my prayer for the next generation is that they would use their God-given talents, skills, and abilities to lift up the name of Christ and look for ways to invite others with them in the pursuit of all that Good, True, and Beautiful.”
