Ina J. Pursley Library
Clapham School promotes a culture of reading with the resources available in the Ina J. Pursley Library. The library exists to provide a variety of resources for students, staff, and their families that enrich, educate, and foster a love of reading in keeping with the values of Clapham School.
We are building a library full of great books. Modern libraries are moving away from the great books tradition, so it is more and more difficult for young readers to access the inspiring ideas of quality literature. Lower School classes visit the library every other week to check out personal reading books. The library has books for all reading levels. If you are a member of the Clapham community, simply write the librarian to reserve a book from our catalogue (pick up times can be arranged with the librarian).

“It is a good rule after reading a new book, never to allow yourself another new one till you have read an old one in between.”
C.S. Lewis
Our hope and prayer...
…for the Clapham library is that our students will be inspired by the treasures they find inside. May their love for stories beautifully written, history that transports them, or theology that challenges and strengthens their faith, make this a place they long to visit.
