Spring Curriculum Night: Good Soil Study and Technology Talk

On April 23rd Clapham School conducted its first ever virtual Curriculum Night live through Zoom. If you weren’t able to make it, you can watch the video here.

Opening Prayer and Announcements

Kathy Bailey, our Head of School, began our program with prayer and announcements. Then Kolby Atchison, Principal, gave some words of encouragement and praise to our parents and teachers. 

 

Good Soil Study

Jason Barney, Academic Dean, then, walked parents through the results of the Good Soil Study, a comparative study showing the life outcomes of a classical Christian education. The study was conducted by the University of Notre Dame’s Sociology department. Watch ACCS’s (the Association of Classical and Christian Schools) introductory video and download the 57 page pdf report going into further detail and analysis of the study.

 

Technology Talk

Lastly, Dr. Patrick Egan, Dean of the Upper School, talked to parents about the benefits and challenges of technology use at this time. He pointed parents in the direction of some resources, including our webinar from earlier this year:
