Experience
Both language and music have always been strong interests for Susanna. During her music studies at Southern Methodist University, Susanna received a grant to study abroad at Charles University in Prague, where she discovered a love of the Czech language. She later taught English in the Czech Republic for two years before entering the linguistics program at Indiana University. She has taught English in numerous contexts, including at Indiana University’s academic English program, in inner-city Minneapolis, and in Cedarville University’s ESL teacher training program. After several years of schooling her children at home, she has spent the last four years teaching literature and Latin to high school students. She keeps her head in the world of music history by reviewing papers for publication in Musical Offerings, an undergraduate journal of musicology published by Cedarville University.
Interests
Reading is Susanna’s favorite way to relax, although a walk or a run on a crisp fall day is a close second. She also enjoys swimming, talking history with her husband, and watching her four children discover and do what they love.
Church
Susanna and her family moved to the Wheaton area in August and are actively seeking a church home.
