At the end of January, our Upper School student leadership team hosted their annual Winter Ball: a formal affair with a masquerade theme. Our student council led the event from start to finish, inviting friends from other local high schools and organizations for an unforgettable evening of dancing.
Our student council is compelled by a vision of hospitality that infuses every aspect of student life and even spills over into the way students interact with each other in class and colloquia. This is a biblical notion of welcome that celebrates the unity that believers share in Christ; that moves students to treat one another with warmth and respect. With this concept at the foundation of student life at Clapham, relationships are transformed. Student life at Clapham is marked by genuine, in-person friendship.

At a Clapham dance, everyone dances, and prior experience is never necessary. Our dances are “called” by a leader who coaches students in formation, moves, and even etiquette. Eventually, everyone dances with everyone else.
At the Winter Ball, students danced everything from contra to céilithe to the Viennese waltz, East Coast Swing, and the Cha Cha Slide.
