Every year the Lord brings Clapham School incredible new faculty and staff to serve the students and school community. This year is no different!

Dean of the Upper School

Dr. Patrick Egan

 

Patrick Egan headshot

Education

B.Mus. in Music History and Literature from Illinois State University, M.Div. and Th.M. in New Testament from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and Ph.D. in New Testament from University of St. Andrews.

Experience

Dr. Egan previously worked at Clapham from 2009 to 2014. After leaving Clapham he worked at Providence Classical Christian Academy in St. Louis as Dean of the Upper School. In addition, Dr. Egan has taught weekend seminary classes at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. In 2016 he published his first book, Ecclesiology and the Scriptural Narrative of 1 Peter (Wipf & Stock). In 2019 Patrick has returned to Clapham School as Dean of the Upper School.

Interests

In his free time he enjoys running, writing about education, playing guitar, and spending time with his family.

 

Church

Patrick attends All Souls Anglican Church with his family.

Dr. Nathan LeMahieu

 

Nathan LeMahieu headshot

Education

BMus in Organ and BA in Political Science from Northwestern University; Master of Sacred Music from the University of Notre Dame; MDiv from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School; PhD in Biblical and Theological Studies from Wheaton College.

 

Experience

Dr. LeMahieu has served in both pastoral and music ministry at several Chicago-area churches. His teaching experience spans numerous grade levels and includes church and retreat preaching and teaching, an active private music teaching studio, and prior to coming to Clapham, an adjunct faculty position at Wheaton College. Research interests include the intersection of sacred music and separation of church and state, Bach and the liturgical year, and, most recently, table fellowship in the Gospels.  

 

Interests

Nathan enjoys travel planning, cooking, landscaping, and keeping his trunk fully stocked with ready-at-a-moment’s-notice sporting goods.

 

Church

Nathan attends St. John Lutheran Church with his wife Julie and their three children. He currently serves the church in a variety of musical capacities including organ playing, conducting, composing, and arranging. 

 

 

Secondary School Science

Elizabeth Kleitsch

Education

Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, with a pre-medicine focus and microbiology emphasis.

Experience

In college Beth tutored fellow students in organic and general chemistry and biology, worked as a lab assistant for human physiology lab, cared for various unusual class pets, and assisted research in organometallic chemistry. Prior to joining Clapham School in 2019, she served as a tent-maker missionary English teacher at a university in northeast China. Beth is a lover of all things science, and she learned much about science from her parents, who enjoy botany and forestry. Many hours spent gardening, walking in botanical gardens and forests, poring over encyclopedias, as well as lengthy discussions of creation care, helped develop the patience to study and appreciate the details of God’s beautiful creation.

Interests

Beth is a proficient sport rock climber, and likes to spent time outside biking, hiking, and gardening. Her less physical activities include singing psalms and learning languages, admiring and photographing plants, reading, cooking Korean and Chinese food to share with friends, and reaching out to lonely people with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Church

Beth attends Bethel Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Wheaton, Illinois.

Education

BS in Elementary Education from Northwestern College (St. Paul, MN)

 

Experience

After college, Jen spent three years as a classroom teacher before transitioning to the role of an administrative assistant at a church in Minneapolis. When her husband’s education required a move to Massachusetts she was able to meld her experiences as the office manager at a Christian school. Upon arriving in Wheaton in 2008 she served as Administrative Assistant to the Principal at Wheaton Academy until becoming a mother in 2011.

 

Interests

Jen enjoys discipling her three children, home-keeping, and mentoring college-age women. She is an avid participant in book clubs.

 

Church

Jen and her family attend Grace Church of DuPage, where her husband, Dan, is a pastor.
