BMus in Organ and BA in Political Science from Northwestern University

MDiv from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School
PhD in Biblical and Theological Studies from Wheaton College

Experience

Nathan has served in both pastoral and music ministries at several Chicago-area churches. His teaching experience spans numerous grade levels and includes church and retreat preaching and teaching, an active private music teaching studio, and prior to coming to Clapham, an adjunct faculty position at Wheaton College. Research interests include the intersection of sacred music and separation of church and state, Bach and the liturgical year, and most recently, table fellowship in the Gospels. Nathan joined the Clapham School faculty in 2018.

Interests

Nathan enjoys travel planning, cooking, landscaping, and keeping his trunk fully stocked with ready-at-a-moment's-notice sporting goods.

Church

Nathan attends St. John Lutheran Church with his wife Julie and their three children. He currently serves the church in a variety of musical capacities including organ playing, conducting, composing, and arranging.
